Who's writing

And, more importantly, why this newsletter exists.

After spending a decade as a research analyst where I filtered through mountains of data to find the insights no one else noticed, I became fascinated with the gap between information abundance and actual wisdom. I’ve worked at The Economist, three Silicon Valley startups, and earned a PhD in Information Science that I rarely mention at parties (until now, apparently).

What I’ve learned is that there’s a massive difference between what’s merely new and what’s genuinely worth your attention. When I’m not ruthlessly editing Letterhead down to its essentials (my record is deleting 2,897 words from a single draft), you’ll find me exploring specialty coffee shops around the world or adding to my slightly obsessive collection of vintage hourglass timers.

I’ve developed an uncanny ability to predict which headlines will be forgotten within 48 hours and which ones will still be relevant next month. It’s not magic—it’s just years of learning that being first is vastly overrated compared to being right.
